Change your bluetooth device mac-address

You can download bdaddr here: bdaddr. If you can’t get bdaddr installed to your Linux distribution BackTrack 4 has bdaddr on /pentest/bluetooth/bluesmash/tools directory. I installed bdaddr to my eeepc (running ubuntu) but I couldn’t change any bt mac with that but Dell Latitude D430 and Backtrack worked like a dream.

Change your NIC MAC-address

Sometimes you just want to change your MAC-address (For example to get new IP-address from DHCP server). If you have luck you can change your MAC-address just with: [cc lang=”bash”]sudo ifconfig wifi0 down hw ether 00:11:22:33:44:55[/cc]
